Volunteering

Volunteer Sign Up

To sign up for your volunteer hours please click on the DIBS tab on the upper right corner.  This will give you the list of volunteer opportunities for traveling and In-house parents. You will also be able to claim your hours from this page. A minimum of 6 hours per family, you are welcome to sign up for more. Must be 16 to volunteer. You can change/cancel these hours up to 5 days prior to the event. If these hours are not met by the end of the season the volunteer check of 100$ will be cashed.

We are always looking for volunteers to help with a variety of tasks and roles. If you would like to get involved, contact  Nikky Bisbee our Volunteer Coordinator.

Volunteer Policy for BLYBA

All parents or guardians of BLYBA players are required to submit a separate check for $100 per family. This includes all coaches, assistant coaches, parent liaisons, and board members. This deposit will be shredded at the completion of minimum volunteer requirements stated below.

The volunteer deposit is a part of the acceptance by you the parent (s) or legal guardian(s) in having your son or daughter play in the Big Lake Youth Basketball program, it is required by you to volunteer a minimum six hours (6 hours per family) above and beyond your participation at your children's practices or games.
 

 

2011-2012 Parent Liaison Duties

Each team needs a Parent liaison, of which will need e-mail access and have the opportunity to check their e-mail regularly, view website, and pass along information in a timely manner.

 

The duties of a Traveling Parent liaison are:

-     Attend all open BLYBA board meetings, or appoint another parent of their team if scheduling conflicts arise.

-         Passing along all information that comes from The Board of Directors to all parents and coaches of their team.

-         Inform all parents of practice and game schedules weekly.  Along with directions to the towns/gyms that the teams will be traveling to.

-         Collect tournament fees through out the season.

-         Help collect fees during team pictures.

 

 

The duties of the In-house Parent liaison are:    

-         Pass along all information that comes from the The Board of Directors or the In-house Director, to the parents and coaches of the team.

-         Inform all parents of the practice and game schedules weekly.

-         Collect score sheets after each game and give to In-house Director

-         Organize snack schedule for after each in-house game.

-         Help collect fees during team pictures.

-    Organize a schedule for parents to run score clock/score sheet during each in-house game
